Our Review

This picnic basket was bought for my daughter for her first Christmas, at the time she was 5 months old.

I have a very good opinion of LeapFrog toys, they are always great and help children to learn through play.  They are very sturdy and pass the toddler test for surviving everything from being thrown to being stood on.  I was very happy to see a new one for Isabelle that would last as long as her Brother’s have.

The basket comes with:

2 cups
2 forks
1 picnic blanket
6 pieces of pretend food including sandwich pie and fruit
2 plates

The plates each have a square circle and triangle shape on them that the corresponding food items fit into, so great for shape sorting.  Isabelle picked this up very easily and loved pretending to have picnics(one of her favourite activities).

The basket itself has a music and a shapes setting, which play sounds and music or ask questions when the lid is opened.  They are great for prompting a response from little ones or helping them to look for things in the basket.  It teaches the colours of the rainbow and is very interactive, and as a parent not annoying at all! No honestly.

Isabelle has had this basket for almost two years, and it is still one of the few toys that I have to leave downstairs for her to play with.  Just asking her today to take some pictures of her playing was a joy.

This is one of the top selling baby/pre-school toys this year and last, and it is easy to see why.

I can’t wait to buy these for my friends babies, as I think Isabelle is likely to hold onto this for a while yet..
